Beginning Contact Staff - Noel An introduction to contact staff manipulation with an emphasis on further learning. This class will take you through the basics of wrapping, rolling and spiraling with a staff. Hand, elbow, shoulder and neck wraps; halos and backside spirals
KT's Staff Dance - KT Tesch "This class will start with a dance warm up and stretches and then move into some basic dance moves incorporating poi/staff. We will practice jumps, turns and balances and finish by learning a choreographed dance phrase all together. Available to all levels." Mulit-Prop Dance (all levels, any prop) - Ian Smith In this workshop we will explore fire spinning from an expressive point of view and not focus too much on technique We will explore quality, levels, accents, and rhythm among others. A large part of this class will be structured improvisation, a nd we will also work on synchronization techniques. Beginning Fan Manipulation- Grimm This class will delve you head first into the world of fan spinning and dance. We will cover basic spins, useful hand positions / poses, turns and pirouettes. Later we'll explore different finger / thumb spins and how to switch between them, and the many different things you can borrow from to make your fan movement really rock. You must bring your own fans and they should be shorter than the length of your arms, and have a ring for spinning. Beginning Poi - Greg This class will cover the fundamentals of spinning poi. Learn timing and direction, turning, stalling and several other core concepts by practicing a few simple tricks. Beginning Juggling- Jordan In this class you will learn the 3 ball cascade – the fundamental building block of juggling patterns – as well as several variations. Everyone can learn how to juggle and the class will be taught in a very simple, sequential manner to ensure that you come out of the class having learned to juggle, guaranteed. Beginning Club Passing- Noel and Jordan One of the greatest things about juggling is how easy it is, once you have the basics, to start juggling with other people. In this class we will learn the standard passing pattern used by jugglers world wide, the 4-count. After this class you will be able to go up to any juggler you meet anywhere and start passing with them. Contact Juggling- Greg One of the most beautiful types of juggling... minimalism in manipulation. Learn the basics of rolling and balancing a ball with the world's first contact juggling teacher.
Whip Cracking- Joe Learn the art and skill of whip cracking. Hoop fundamentals and intro to diagrammatic hooping- Rich This class workshop will touch briefly on hoop fundamentals including hooping in both currents, off-body planes, and isolations. We''ll build off these elements to introduce concepts in creating high-contrast motions and explore the visual patterns created by the hoop.
Small Hoop Manipulation: Brian and Poki Discover the emerging art-form of mini-hoop manipulation! Learn how to apply concepts of isolation, antispin, and linear extensions to create compelling illusions of floating and gliding. Impress your friends, confuse your cat, be the talk of any hoop-jam--you'll get it all with this workshop! Beginning Staff: Krissy Explore various types of staff movement, develop technique to control the staff and learn to move your body in graceful unison with the staff. After this class you will be able to spin confidently in a variety of ways and will have a clear understanding of how a staff moves and how you must move with the staff. Beginning Partner Poi: Jordan, Noel, Krissy, and Greg Learn to spin with a friend. Partner poi is all
about taking simple poi tricks and sharing them with someone else. Learn 5 awesome moves in this class. Bring a partner or we'll provide you with one.
Beginning Double Staff: Krissy In this exciting introduction to double staff we will cover beats, timing and direction, anti-spin and isolation. This is a great class for anyone who desires to begin learning double staff manipulation or who wishes to review the basics to help you on your way to becoming more advanced. |
